Artists Statement
Photography is not based on the technology used to capture the images but rather on
the creative passion that resides within each of us to 'see' the world. When we combine what we
see with what we feel then we can capture not simply the image but the underlying sense of
what it means. The amazing thing is an image we view tends to mean something different to
each of us. I believe that a photographer must get out of the way of the image, in other
words we need to not create the image but rather through my interpretation of it have the
viewer look through my image and into themselves reflecting on a past moment, a moment yet
to occur or perhaps simply a moment of escape from the world that surrounds us. When this
occurs I have been successful in my craft.
